What should I wear to my session? If you've booked a lifestyle session you will receive a style guide as well as my assistance on making outfit/accessory choices. I typically have my clients text or email me pictures of potential outfit choices and we go from there.
-
What is the process for choosing my photos?A proofing gallery will be delivered to you within 2 weeks of your session where you can select the photos you'd like. Proofing galleries are open for 48 hours from time of delivery. You will receive 20 digital files for a lifestyle session with an option to upgrade for additional photos or purchase the full galley.

We're awkward in front of the camera - HELP!I totally get this one. As a photographer I definitely prefer to be BEHIND the camera. A few tips: Remain connected to one another using your hands and your eyes. Small children tend to lead the way, so follow along with them; get on their level, and remain connected through touch and gaze. Partners, take advantage of this time to love up on each other! Make a playlist! I LOVE when clients play music at sessions and always bring a portable speaker with me. Make a playlist of some of your favourite music that captures the feel you want for your session. Better yet, share it with me ahead of time so I get a sense of your "vibe". When in doubt...keep moving! it can be hard not to feel frozen when the camera is pointed at you but movement in photos is so wonderful. Not only does it give versatility to your images but it adds to the emotive element. Play with each other’s hands, stroke your child's head, move your dress around, flick your hair, stretch, put your hands up, chase each other. Keep changing things up!

What is a session with you like?It might not be typical, but usually my sessions become more like hang outs. I love my clients to throw on some music, bring some drinks (if that's your jam) and come ready to connect. I don't stress about kids being wild and I love to get to know you and hear your stories. When you create an environment where people feel comfortable to be themselves it will shine through in the photos. I don't put strict timelines on my photo sessions because each family is unique in how long it takes them to relax. I also love to get creative with outside-the-box concepts, so if you have a unique idea or prop, please share or bring it along!

What geographical areas do you serve? In order to ensure exceptional care, I provide doula services to anyone located up to about a 45 minute drive from South Delta in the Lower Mainland. That generally means Tsawwassen, Ladner, North Delta, Surrey, White Rock, Richmond, Burnaby, New Westminster, and Vancouver. For photography, I’m willing to travel anywhere! If you’re not sure if you’re within my location parameters, or if you have a travel proposition, please get in touch.
-
When should I hire a doula? As soon as possible! The earlier the better to secure a spot, ensure ample time to build a close and trusting connection, and to get the most out of your investment. There are a lot of opportunities for testing and learning in the first and second trimesters, so if you wait to hire a doula until the third trimester you’ve missed out on some important support and information.
-
What exactly is a doula?A doula is a trained professional who accompanies people through the experience of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum to help achieve the birth they envision. Doulas provide emotional, physical, and informational support, as well as help parents navigate communication with their care providers to make sure they feel heard and in charge.

Do you only take on clients who are planning home births? While I used to work with clients who chose hospital births, I am currently only offering services to those planning home births. If you’re not sure about your birth plan yet, I’m happy to answer a few questions to see if we could be a good fit to work together.
